A public servant and private sector individuals alleged to have engaged in corrupt practices entered pleas of not guilty in the Suva Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Former Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Structural Design Engineer Roneet Prakash, who faces one count of bribery, denied receiving a sink and vanity bench from the director of Hi-Tech Engineering Works Ltd.
The director, Sanji Lal and accountant Avinesh Sami are charged with one count of Bribery of Public Servants by persons dealing with Public Bodies for having allegedly offered the bribe.
Mr Lal is also denied the charge of fabricating evidence for allegedly producing a payment voucher to joinery in 2018. The trio was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in July this year.
The matter was adjourned to 26 May 2020 to fix a hearing date. Source: FICAC
