The 10-year-old child suspected of having measles at the Fiji School For The Blind in Vatuwaqa, Suva, has been cleared by the Ministry of Health.
So far, 13 cases have been confirmed in Fiji and all these cases have a connection with ‘Red Zone’ marked areas of Serua and Namosi.
Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete has highlighted that the ministry was now looking for children who may have missed out on the immunization process.
He also highlighted that routine immunization to infants, as per the national immunization programme, still continues.
Meanwhile, the extra 200,000 doses of the measles vaccines were expected to arrive yesterday from Denmark.
