Despite the daily struggles Latileta Ranadi says, getting her children educated will always be a priority for her.
The Lautoka resident lives with her husband and their five sons at the Beteki Settlement in Lovu.
Early last month, the Fiji Sun published an article on the family and struggles they face daily. Since then they have received donations of food, clothing, and other necessary items from various donors.
Ms. Ranadi said she was grateful to all the donors, who came forward to assist her family. At the same time, she will continue to work hard to support her family.
“I sell a few veggies at the Lautoka Market just to support my husband who also works to look after us and our children,” she said.
Two of her sons attend Lovu Sangam Primary School.
“Two of my boys are ready to begin school this week; Apisai Nadore will return to Kindergarten and Maika Joshua Vueti will be going back to Year One,” she said.
“We struggled a lot, but we are still happy and fortunate that we still have each other and have other people continuing to support us.
“Although we face a lot of challenges my children must return to school and continue with their education.”
